All the Dr's were very professional and up front about surgical procedures and explained the whole process very well. After surgery they explained the recovery process and answered any question we had. They were spot on saying we are just as responsible for the recovery process by fallowing the process they recommend on the paperwork. Been 7 weeks since knee replacement and got a 100% on healing properly and back to his normal activity. He is my 5 year old golden retriever. I would recommend them 100% on surgical knee replacements. -

It's amazing here. The level of care is fantastic. We are sadly on our second surgery with our pet and there was no where else we'd go. The first time, we got updates during the stay of her surgery, pictures, and knew she was taken care of. After we took her home, they were just a text away to answer all our questions and refills. I for the life can't remember names BUT there is a newer receptionist there and she took my intake about Maggie when I called on to see if there was any recommendations to keep Maggie comfortable while I was waiting for my appointment. She wasn't 100% sure, so she asked to put me on hold to clarify with her trainer and I absolutely love that this practice will always go above and beyond to ensure we get quality information. Maggie's surgeon is amazing and we wouldn't trust anywhere else to take her. We skipped going to our vet and got Maggie back in right away when we realized she had injured her opposite leg. The level of care is beyond comparison to others in the Omaha area. The level communication and care. My pet is my child and they care that level of respect in every step of the process. I skipped my vet to come back here knowing they'll give Maggie the best care. -
Had to come here for a broken leg for my Aussie Doodle. Not something I wanted to do, however, for a bad situation the experience could not have been better. Everyone was helpful, kind and very caring. Megan in the front reception area was particularly fantastic and made every visit as pleasant as possible and Dr Zann not only did great work that healed fast, but was also a pleasure to work with. Highly recommend if needed. -
Based on our preliminary office visit, we were very impressed with the knowledge, friendliness and cleanliness of the facility. The staff seemed to love their work and showed kindness to our four legged family member. Everyone from checkout to vet tech and veterinarian were wonderful ! The encouragement that Sasha can be helped. -
This facility is a well oiled machine. You provide excellent service, have a beautiful facility, very friendly staff, and knowledgeable experts. You clearly do what you do best! The instructions are clear, the process is clear, the items you send home after surgery are exceptionally useful. The message updates from staff on the day of surgery were very helpful. The communication and instructions are top notch, very clear, very useful. The magnet schedule and the ice pack are very thoughtful and useful. The recommendations for PT videos and Facebook support groups are exceptional. The calm demeanor of staff dealing with pets in pain shows us how much you care and are aware that you aren't seeing pets in the best health, but you prove that you are providing the best care they need! You have truly perfected your process from beginning to end. -
We came from Sioux Falls for our sweet pup Ruby to have her front leg checked out. All the staff were caring and kind, Ruby was so loved! We didn’t feel rushed, we were given great information, and it was overall a nice experience! 🙂 -
Checking in this morning for surgery was great! Staff was extremely helpful in transporting Marshmallow from the car into the hospital. Both Dr. & nurses did a great job of explaining the process. Marshmallow has the best team with her every step of the way! -
SO knowledgeable, helpful, and caring. My dog needed TPLO surgery for two torn ACLs, one in each hind leg, and they were amazing. I didn't even know what a TPLO was, and they explained everything in a way that was easy to understand. The surgeon has done thousands of these surgeries before, so that was definitely who I wanted working on my baby! They also respond to text messages and provide updates with photos during surgery recovery, and provide a helpful bag to bring home with an ice pack, a dry erase board to track all the meds your dog needs to take, and more. I would recommend Sirius again and again. -
The staff has been caring and very informative. I've spoken to a few people who have gotten treatment for their precious babies and have heard nothing but good things. I had a positive experience, from start to finish. The level of detail and care taken is very impressive. -
Mitsy is only 9 years old and I didn’t want her to live the rest of her life not being able to walk on her hind leg so I took her to SiriusVet Orthopedic Center. She had torn her ACL. Best decision I ever made. 8 weeks later and she’s all healed up and back to a full recovery. They are very good there and very caring staff. My son’s dog had both of her legs done there and she’s doing great also. I would recommend this clinic to anyone who needs any work done on their pet. 5 stars!!! -
We took Gibbs in for an ACL surgery. Everything was top shelf service from the staff to the doctor and we were completely overwhelmed by the regular messages about the procedure and recovery period and how he was doing. Recommend Sirius for all of your pet surgery needs!! -
I have visited Sirius with 3 different dogs, for different issues over the last 6 years. They have given top notch care for my dogs, with good prices for the extra services & are great about communication with my local vets for continued care. -
Our old girl needed 4 knee surgeries in 2022-2023 due to bad breeding genetics. This clinic was great with care, explanations, and urgency when it mattered. Even after moving 15 hours away, I traveled back to get her final surgery done here. 6 months of full recovery and we were able to get her a little sister. She can run, play and help train the little one. Thankful for Sirius staff and doctors that helped us through a rough season! -
All of the staff were friendly, the doctor explained what the surgery was going to entail as well as aftercare. The lady who greeted us and put us in the room, also brought me coffee. All of the staff were friendly -
It’s never good news when your dog needs surgery, but the staff here is very caring and professional. They give you lots of information so you can make an informed decision, and a successful recovery for your dog. -
My 9 year old puppy developed a limp that progressed quickly. Dr. Zann explained how TPLO worked to repair the torn ligament causing his limp. Great communication from the staff before, during and after the procedure. We are two months post op and he is doing fantastic, no limp. -

Everyone is so helpful and so kind, we took our dog in for broken femur surgery, and they never failed to update us and let us know everything that was going on so we weren’t worried! If it was appropriate, I could write a novel about how top-tier and phenomeal Sirius is. To save everybody the time, I will try to summarize. As a self-proclaimed "obsessed dog mom," I was shattered when my dog, Patrick (the love of my life/my heart dog), tore both of his CCLs within 5 weeks of each other. He was completely immobile, lacking the ability to even stand to relieve himself. I was losing hope and my heart was breaking more every single day, until I walked into Sirius. The team is welcoming, professional, compassionate, and knowledgeable. Most of all, you can feel that they really care.Dr. Tan is hands down the best vet I have ever encountered. He cares. He is personable, will speak to you so you can understand the situation, and you will trust him. The nurses (I wish I knew all of their names) are irreplaceable assets to that clinic. They assured me Patrick would be ok, and for the first time, I felt comfortable leaving him for an extended time in a vet's care. They performed the surgery, loved him, kept me updated via text and phone call, and ultimately saved Patrick's life. They were invested in his recovery.4 months later, Patrick is healthy, happy, and MOBILE again! Every time I have walked into the clinic, loving shouts of, "Paaatriiick!!!" echo through the halls. I would fly my dog across the world to come back here if I ever found myself in another situation like this. THANK YOU!! 🐶💙 -
Our German Shepherd has had 2 orthopedic surgeries with Sirius and both times the Doctor and Staff have been amazing about explaining the process and helping with the financial end of the process as well. I personally Highly recommend this clinic if your fur babies are on need of orthopedic needs. -
We were recommended Sirius Orthopedic and Dr. Zann by the VCA (shout out, Dr. Thibodeau!) when Stinker’s hips fractured and broke. 3 months post-op from his bilateral hip ostectomy, Stinker is 100% pain free. He can SPRINT, climb cat trees, pull himself up on the couch without assistance, flip on his back, play, go potty without any issues, stretch, cuddle and climb up and down stairs safely. In case anyone is wondering what kind of hindrances your cat may have following the double hip procedure, Stinker can no longer stretch his hind legs if he’s on his back (but he can good stretch in other ways!) and he cannot jump more than a slight hop. Thank you Dr. Zann and the rest of the Sirius Vet team for giving our Stink the opportunity for a healthy, happy life following his injuries!! -
The environment was perfect for our dog. He is normally very anxious and not thrilled to visit the Vet, but the office was so peaceful and underwhelming for him. It went so smooth and he did so well! -

Sonny had TPLO surgery with Dr Tan. Facility was very nice, Dr Tan was great. No surprise charges. Bones healed at 8 weeks. He's running off leash at 9 weeks for short periods to build muscle back up -
The staff was friendly and doctor took time to explain our dog's situation, give us all the info we needed and answer all our questions. We appreciated their compassion and understanding that our dog is more than just a pet to us. -
I was so pleased with my experience at Sirius. I live over an hour away, but it was worth the drive. The staff who assisted me (and my dog) were efficient, friendly, kind, and honest. I was assuming that my dog would need to have surgery, but after examining my dog and taking x-rays, I was assured that it wouldn't be needed. I will definitively go back to Sirius if my dog has any additional orthopedic issues that I am concerned about. -
This vet is seriously amazing! Our puppy Skye broke her leg and needed surgery. They got her in as soon as they could and did surgery. The staff are very sweet, professional, and thorough. They sent text updates throughout the day with pictures. The doctor called us after her surgery to update us. They provided ample information from after care to hotels that were pet friendly for our stay. I would highly recommend this vet to anyone looking for orthopedic care! Was worried when we arrived not knowing what to expect. We both felt great knowing that our dr was so comfortable about performing the surgery. He was completely honest and upfront and calmed our nerves. Explaining everything and everyone was so nice and caring towards our dog. We have had great service from Sirius. Our dog's surgery was very successful. The follow-up from Sirius was always good, and if we had any questions we could get a quick response. We think our dog is getting better medical care than we are! Dr. Zann was great--would highly recommend. And we can't recall all of the vet techs names, but all were very kind and provided good service. The overall quality of the care our dog received and the kindness and attention of doctor and staff. -

We first went to Dr Horstman in May 2018 for TPLO. We had a great experience. We needed to do a second TPLO in May 2023, and I made the mistake of choosing a local clinic instead of going back to Sirus. She had issues with her second knee, so I made an appointment for a second opinion with Dr Horstman. Even though he didn't do the second surgery he was very informative and helpful with the options we had to help her out. He was very honest and upfront about his ability to 'heal' her. We opted to do a bilateral plate removal in April 2024 with Dr Horstman. Everything went great and everyone was wonderful. They treat your pup like their own and the after care is top notch. The ability to text pictures and questions and get a response within a couple hours is very appreciated. I would and will highly encourage any animal needing ortho surgery to go to Sirus. There is a reason there are specialist for conditions. Bella thanks you all for the wonderful care. -

This is my first time having a pup hurt themselves and need surgery. Sirius Vet has been so helpful guiding me through this. Their communication has been outstanding, and whenever I have a question I know they will be able to answer it in appropriate time. Sirius Vet Clinic has been outstanding every step of the way. From our initial consultation to surgery and now recovery we have felt informed, empowered, and supported by the staff. Each person took the time to answer questions (many questions) and have given us the tools and resources to help our girl, Charlie continue to recover. -
We traveled from Norfolk at the recommendation of our Vet to get an opinion on how to proceed with Casey's injury. We were very well treated from the first phone call for an appointmenmoment til we walked in the door for her first visit.Dr. Horstman and all the staff explained options for treatment. We elected to have exploitative surgery with a scope, PRP if it was indicated and it was.She had a successful recovery. She wore a brace to prevent abduction of the rt. shoulder which was seen to have damage to a ligament and tendon. We used the rehab offered through 5 Elements and were very pleased with her visits.She is now almost 3 months post op and doing wonderfully. We continued her therapeutic laser here in Norfolk and have found a couple of vets close to us that we will be using for some chiropractic health maintaince. From being treated like our dog is the most important patient they have to being spoken to in terms I can understand, I've never felt more confident that my puppy is in good hands. And the updates through texts are THE BEST. it's so hard being apart from our girl, but those updates put my mind at ease until we can pick her up. For a surgeon to suggest NOT doing surgery is remarkable and HONEST. Dr Tan put our minds at ease in a very difficult situation. The scheduler was very helpful and kind. My dog, Baxter had a complete tear of his ACL. My vet recommended Sirius so we went there. I was impressed with all aspects of their clinic, from the front desk to the vet tech, and especially, Dr. Tan who did the surgery. They were thorough with information, they sent updates with texts and pictures after his surgery. If I had any questions, they were available to answer them. We totally trusted them with our fur baby. In fact, Baxter tore his other ACL and we brought him back to have Dr. Tan repair that one too! We highly recommend Sirius. -

The first picture below is my Rottie at home. The second picture is the same puppy laying at my feet while waiting for the vet. From the moment we arrived the staff and service was fantastic. When we arrived there were three customers walking in at the same time. the staff were quick to get each customer and head into a room to avoid the extra excitement that goes along with puppies meeting each other. Dr. Horstman spent a generous amount of his time educating me so that I could make the best decision for my puppies hip dysplasia. -
My dog tore his CCL completely through in April, and I was referred to sirius from my rural vet. My dog had to have a tplo surgery, and everyone at the office was very nice and informative. Dr Zann did an excellent job, and my dog is almost completely healed. -
Welcoming staff and comforting experience! Everyone we saw that day was wonderful! I appreciated the ease of hearing the worst news for my sweet girl, I didn't feel overwhelmed rather informed and capable of getting my girl taken care of. -
The staff (front desk, tech, and vet) were all friendly and very accommodating. Treatment options (including cost estimates) were clearly explained and I never felt like they were trying to “sell” me the most expensive one. My dog can be a handful but everyone was great with him and I was very comfortable leaving him in their care. The office seems to run like a well-oiled machine. I highly recommend! -

When we would take our dog to the vet he would have panic attacks, and tremble. But after we started taking him to Sirius his fear turned into excitement. He couldn’t wait to go inside and see everyone workout, I don’t know what they were doing when they were treating him. Our Beagle pup broke his elbow and needed surgery. We were extremely worried about him, but Dr. Tan put those worries to bed quickly. He is confident, patient, and explains things very well. Our little snoopy dog was up and mobile within days. In fact, he felt too good. We've had to keep him sedated to prevent him from overexerting himself. The rest of their staff has been amazing as well, checking on us via text message and answering questions we have throughout the healing process. We are very pleased with our experience here, and although I can't say I "hope" you need their help in the future, I can say that if you do you can't go wrong by choosing them. -

My local veternarian gave the reference to take my 8 pound little girl puppy to Sirius when she had a leg accident. Without asking my permission, puppy jumped off my lap at agility class with leash attached. She was caught in the leash on the way to the ground and pulled a leg bone out of place. When I told friends about her going to Sirius for care, three people already had experience with Sirius, and they ALL gave positive recognition of the quality of professionalism and of service performed. Everything is well explained, I get personal reports and photos on my little girl on a regular basis while she is there, and I can even make suggestions when issues like "won't eat" come up. -

Awesome experience with two ACL tear surgeries with Dr. Zann with the TPLO procedures for our 7 yr old husky. He was extremely professional in offering his recommendation and any and all information regarding the procedure and rehabilitation. I have nothing but great things to say about the staff and experience as a whole. Even weeks after the procedures, the staff is there to answer any questions and provide support. Our Corso Athena had to have 2 tplo surgeries. We were worried and scared how this was going to go. The team at Sirius went above and beyond to make sure we were comfortable and educated on how this was going to go and what recovery was going to be like. Her second surgery was 6 weeks ago and she is healing remarkably. I would recommend them to anyone who is going through something like this. Our seven year old mixed breed (border collie/ Norwegian elkhound) tore her ACL. Our experience at Sirius was fantastic. They spent time explaining the injury, they walked us through what her surgery would consist of and with great detail described what was needed for her recovery (the recovery takes a lot of time and attention so be prepared!) They were so available through texts or phone calls when we had questions or concerns.It has been six months and Seena has made a full recovery. Honestly by week 8 it was like she was never injured. She is fully back to her energetic and playful self.If your dog has torn their ACL or has another issue, I highly recommend going to Sirius for their expertise and level of one on one care. -

Our 8 year old boxer recently had her second surgery at Sirius and I have to say the entire staff there is just AMAZING. They are all so helpful, empathic and understanding that it is hard to have an injured dog. They walk you through everything step b step, make sure you have all the information you need, send text updates and are always available over the phone. We know she received the absolute best care and would highly recommend them for anyone needing such services. -
Sirius Vet was absolutely amazing when working with my first little puppy who is a Pomeranian. They took amazing care of her and ended up putting in a small plate in her front leg due to her falling off our bed. The detailed instructions were extremely useful and she is completely healed. We had to take our GSD puppy that was experiencing pain and lameness in his front right leg. Initially they were unable to assess him because he was being an excited puppy, and despite our GSD’s lack of cooperation, the staff was understanding and supportive.The second time we came, our puppy had sadly and unfortunately gotten aggressive due to pain, but they never wavered in treating him in a positive and kind manner. They asked me to put a muzzle on him which I happily did. Dr Horstman was able to diagnose our GSD puppy with panosteitis and retained cartilage core. We were prescribed pain meds and recommended to start him on small amounts of exercise.Very grateful for the staff and Dr Horstman. And I’m happy to report, as long as his pain is controlled, he’s no longer aggressive (we went several days without pain meds and he did get aggressive again so we now pay very close attention to all body cues as his pain cues are very subtle). He’s back to his dorky playful self. -
Dr did a good job explaining the injury, procedure & prognosis & addressed my concerns & questions with patience. Front desk staff were a little disorganized. Completely trust the surgeons however. This was my second surgery experience there. -

If I could give Sirius more than five stars, I would. Dr. von Pfeil has been exceptional. We drove two hours from Des Moines for my dog to be evaluated for a biceps injury. Dr. von Pfeil was able to arthroscopically assess the joint and provide surgical treatment using an arthroscope that was so small that my dog only needed skin glue to close the incision. This is very advanced, minimally invasive surgery that cannot be found in most referral practices, which is why we specifically went to Sirius. The technicians were friendly, took excellent care of my dog, and provided many text updates while he was staying at the clinic. I have two friends who have taken dogs to Sirius over the last two months, and they have received exceptional care as well. I will always trust Sirius with my dog's orthopedic needs! -
Thank you Sirius Team and Dr. Tan for treating Oakley! We are so grateful. Oakley, 11, was declining with his inability to walk without his back legs giving out and getting up and down from the floor was struggle and was having a lot more pain. He wasn't his happy self. Despite changing meds and doing Canine Physical Therapy he still wasn't improving how we'd like. Oakley was in great health despite his bad hips and our primary Vet suggested Dr. Tan and a possible Total Hip Replacement.We did the pre-operative appointment and Dr. Tan was fabulous. He was patient and even personally talked to us on the phone to answer our questions in making the decision to give our 11 year old lab a better quality of life. We proceeded with the total hip.This office was amazing during Oakley's surgery and post surgery stay in the hospital as we couldn't visit. The phone calls and texts messages--by Dr. Tan and his staff was amazing. Great communication and care of Oakley. They even sent us pictures.A few months later, Oakley is thriving. He's back to a younger version of himself walking, bounding, running, and his personality is back. It was the team effort of the surgery with Dr. Tan coupled with his Canine Physical Therapy (Dr. Macke is awesome too) that has Oakley doing so well. I am grateful for this team of professionals that worked together to give Oakley the outcome he's had. It's been worth every penny of money spent to have Oakley doing as well as he has--grateful beyond what words can say. You gave us a few more years with "Our Boy." -
They were prompt and courteous. The staff was very knowledgable. The Dr. gave us many solutions to our pets problems. The cost was very reasonable for a consultation. The facility was also very well kept and clean. We give them an A+. Thank you very much. -
We took our lab here after she had a serious fracture in one of her front legs. We couldn’t have been happier with the surgeon and staff. They were clearly dog people, were caring, and the surgeon was personable and answered all our questions. Our dog now runs and plays just as well as she did before the injury. -
I can't give a high enough rating for Dr. Horstman and his staff, especially Jessie. We have a 15 year old Shih Tzu who shattered an elbow in her front leg. Our biggest concern was her quality of life, given her age. Dr. Horstman laid everything out for us in a professional and common sense way so we could make an informed decision. We decided to move forward with surgery. Dr. Horstman and his staff were incredibly responsive both during and after surgery and the three month healing process. They made a very difficult situation so much better for my family. I'm happy to say that Stella is doing great. My 2 year old goldendoodle dislocated his hip over a weekend and it was determined he had hip dysplasia by the urgent care we went to. We kept him stable until Sirius opened on Monday morning and they were immediately helpful. They got Winston in for surgery the following day and were kind, informative, and transparent. Due to COVID-19 I wasn't able to come in with Winston but they sent me frequent text updates and always answered my calls and questions. I had no doubt he was in good hands. It will be a bit of a recovery but I am confident Winston will be good as new because of Sirius Vet! -
We had Charley's left knee replaced about 2 years ago and it is great, now we will be fixing her right knee and we hope it is as successful as the first one. Sirius has been great. fixed Charley's knee and got her back to normal. -
Five Elements is a veterinarian clinic that offers chiropractic care laser therapy herbal therapy all types of alternative healing which they combine with modern veterinarian practices Jennifer the vet I see there is a very caring person and does a wonderful job . Her staff are just great . I was taking my dog there my sweet pug because she had lost an eye recently because another dog wanted her bone. I went to see if there's anything she could do to help my dog adjust to her handicap. she got a chiropractic treatment which has helped her. She also helped.me to except what happened better and gave me good advice to keep it from happening again. I recommend them highly. -

My 7-month old rescue kitten from NY had seriously broken her leg. Cornell University wanted to charge me $10,000, so I got on an airplane and flew to Omaha to bring her to Sirius. Needless to say, they were BETTER *and* way more reasonably priced than the vets back home. Thank you for saving my cat! -
Took my husky mix here after tearing her CCL (ACL). The staff were all friendly and knowledgeable, they did a great job on the procedure, and were available to help with questions I had in the days after (of which there were a few). I'd definitely recommend them. -

Our lab has orthopedic surgery here twice, and each time the staff has communicated very effectively, ensuring we knew what to expect. The rehab facilities help during recovery. I have high confidence in their ability to provide superior care. -
My dog tore her CCL and I took her to Sirius to have a TPLO procedure done. They were wonderful and texted me updates throughout the day of the procedure to let me know how things were going, they even a couple pictures of her after she woke up and was in the kennel resting. Sirius has been great and definitely recommend them. -
Friendly staff and clean facility. We got good news coming out of here; so there wasn't anything to be unhappy about. I'm glad I know about this place and hope to never have to use them again but would in a heartbeat. -

We went through 2 back-to-back TPLO surgeries and Dr. Dirsko von Pfeil & all of the staff at Sirius Veterinary Orthopedic Center did such a great job we would recommend them to anyone!They patiently answered my many questions leading into the surgery and we greatly appreciated all of the surgery day and night updates via calls, texts and photos to always know how things were going.We drove from the Des Moines area based on a recommendation from our local vet and the drives were worth it to see our corgi able to run and play again. -

Sirius Vet is a great practice with employees who take excellent care of our fur babies. Our 8 month old dog Herb recently had a hip surgery. They bumped up our surgery and have been very helpful .My only criticism is that we were not clear on their timetable policy the day of surgery. I figured his operation would be in the morning since dropoff was at 8 am. I received a text at 12 or 1 that Herb was the last slot of the day. I wish I had known this was a possibility because I was quite surprised and upset. The poor guy didn't get to eat for 24 hrs. An employee explained the policy but I still wish it had been clarified sooner. -

We had a 6 year old Yorkie wit Luxating Patella in both knees. Met with Dr. Horseman who recommended surgery. All went well with the surgery and recovery. The folks here are down to earth and caring! I would recommend them to anyone. -

this is a very nice and friendly clinic. The reception ladies were all very sweet and the Vet was knowledgeable and kind; However it is very very pricey and so I was not able to comit to them for surgery regarding my dog. -

I can’t say enough positive things about Dr. Horstman and his staff. Not only did Dr. Horstman repair our dog Molly’s ruptured cranial cruciate ligament, he also saved Molly’s life! Prior to surgery, Dr. Horstman discovered a large mass on Molly’s spleen that almost certainly would have killed her without surgery to remove her spleen. Upon healing from the splenectomy surgery, Dr. Horstman and his team did an outstanding job repairing Molly’s ruptured cranial cruciate ligament. I would not have trusted any other veterinary surgeon to perform the complex tibial plateau leveling osteotomy surgery. Dr. Horstman’s credentials are impeccable, and his skill level is unmatched. Not only that, but he and his staff are very friendly and they took excellent care of Molly. Furthermore, a veterinary technician is at the clinic all night to monitor the animals recovering from surgery, so that greatly reduces the anxiety and stress associated with leaving a beloved pet overnight. Overall, the Omaha metropolitan area is lucky to have Dr. Horstman and his staff. Needless to say, if Molly were ever to have another orthopedic injury, I would most definitely return to the Sirius Veterinary Othorpedic Center for treatment. I highly recommend this clinic to anyone else who’s pet is in need of orthopedic treatment. Thank you! -
