Dr. Joseph Fuller

Dr. Joseph Fuller has always known he wanted to work with animals. Growing up in Brierfield, Alabama, he was inspired by his father, a veterinarian, and developed an early appreciation for the impact veterinary medicine has on both pets and their families.

He earned his Doctor of Veterinary Medicine degree from Auburn University College of Veterinary Medicine in 2021. During veterinary school, Dr. Fuller gained experience in mixed animal medicine and enjoyed working with a variety of species. However, during his junior year, he had the opportunity to shadow several orthopedic surgeons. It was then that he discovered his passion for orthopedic surgery and knew he wanted to pursue it as his career. From that point forward, he focused his clinical training and elective coursework on orthopedic surgery to build the knowledge and skills needed for specialty practice.

Dr. Fuller has a special interest in cranial cruciate ligament (CCL) disease, fracture repair, and arthroscopy. He enjoys the precision and problem-solving involved in orthopedic surgery and is passionate about helping pets regain mobility, relieve pain, and return to the activities they love. Working with his hands while caring for animals has always been a natural fit, making orthopedic surgery the perfect combination of his passions.

Dr. Fuller chose to join Sirius Veterinary Orthopedic Center because of its outstanding reputation for providing exceptional orthopedic care. He was drawn to the practice by the friendliness and hospitality of the team, as well as the high standards of medicine and surgery that Sirius is known for throughout the veterinary community. Learning alongside Dr. Christopher Horstman and the Sirius team provides an exciting opportunity to continue growing as a surgeon while delivering outstanding care to patients and their families.

Outside of the clinic, Dr. Fuller enjoys spending as much time outdoors as possible. While attending school for his undergrad, he was a member of the university’s fishing team and still enjoys spending time on the lake whenever he can. He’s also an avid runner, loves exploring the outdoors, and considers himself a big foodie who enjoys discovering new restaurants. In the fall, you’ll almost always find him cheering on Auburn football.
